  • Sustrans and Toddlebike - 'Free Range Kids' Campaign

As part of their 'Free Range Kids' Campaign, Sustrans and Toddlebike have joined forces to offer families the chance to win one of 2 Toddlebikes this February.

Sustrans believes 'that every child has the right to be 'free range' for the sake of their health, happiness and wellbeing...making it easier for kids to be out and about and active.'

As Toddlebike enables Toddlers and their families to achieve these exact goals this is a perfect partnership and hopefully one of many times that we will join forces this year to promote our key messages.

Sustrans have already undertaken to 'road test' a Toddlebike to see for themselves how many of their goals can be achieved for Toddlers and their families with Toddlebike (results yet to be published but the fact that more bikes were needed as their test riders were refusing to share bode well!). Toddlebikes are also a part of the regional 'Bike-It' project which formerly could only appeal to School age children but using Toddlebikes can now include Nurseries too.

Those who haven't heard of Sustrans before can visit their website http://www.sustrans.org.uk/freerangekids/about-free-range-kids or there is their 'about' statement to follow:

"Sustrans makes smarter travel choices possible, desirable and inevitable. We're a leading UK charity enabling people to travel by foot, bike or public transport for more of the journeys we make every day. We work with families, communities, policy-makers and partner organisations so that people are able to choose healthier, cleaner and cheaper journeys, with better places and spaces to move through and live in."
